Attorney Council Annual School Law Seminar. Cathy Tallerico was a panel member at the Attorney Council Annual School Law Seminar involved in discussions of the impacts and legal issues associated with bullying and harassment. At the December Attorney Council session of the CASB annual conference, she spoke about teacher salary schedules and policies and procedures regarding development of and placement on those schedules. In addition, Ms. Tallerico continues to provide training on sexual harassment and workplace policies for employers throughout Colorado.

House Bill 1010. Jeff Kahn testified before the House Agriculture, Livestock and Natural Resource Committee of the Colorado General Assembly in support of House Bill 1010. If enacted, the bill would shorten the time period in which mutual ditch companies could replace lost stock certificates.

Senate Bill 191. Adele Reester served as a Senate Bill 191 panel member at the CASB Annual School Law Conference. She also spoke on "Social Media in the Government Workforce from the Employer's Perspective" at the Special District's annual conference in Breckenridge.

DARCA Presentation. Scott Holwick will speak about "Reservoir Recreational and Storage Leases" at the Ditch and Reservoir Company Alliance Annual Conference in Colorado Springs. Jeff Kahn will talk about changes of agricultural water rights at the same conference. Attendees will include water attorneys, water resource engineers, and ditch and reservoir company representatives.

CASB Workshop. Cathy Tallerico joined Ms. Reester in presenting at the Colorado Association of School Boards workshop in Loveland, Colorado regarding the latest updates for FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, and Senate Bill 10-191. read more

SDA Annual Conference. Richard Lyons is a regular speaker at the Special District Association's annual conference. He recently spoke about the legalities and practicalities of hiring a special district manager or chief under Colorado's Open Meetings Act and Open Records Act. Mr. Lyons also spoke at the SDA's annual conference in Breckenridge about the practical use of social networks and media for special districts.
