Richard Lyons assisted in the recent formation of the Crestone Fire Protection District in Saguache County. He also successfully defended the St. Vrain Valley School District in a charter school appeal before the State Board of Education.

Cathy Tallerico prevailed in a case filed in US District Court in Colorado relating to special education and the Individuals with Disabilities Act. She also prevailed on a tort claim filed against a school district on the basis of governmental immunity. Ms. Tallerico litigated and resolved several Americans with Disabilities claims, and continues to assist clients with complex Fair Labor Standards Act issues. During 2011, she also successfully negotiated several large construction contracts.

In December Jeff Kahn successfully represented a homeowners association in an arbitration proceeding concerning a dispute over the charges to the association for untreated water provided to the association for irrigation. The outcome saved the association a substantial amount of money on an annual basis.

Eve Canfield represented a client in a breach of contract matter, winning on a Motion for Summary Judgment, which resulted in a very positive outcome for the client.

Adele Reester is currently leading the negotiation of master teacher contracts as the spokesperson for three school districts for the 2012-2013 school year.

Jeff Kahn and Madoline Wallace-Gross obtained a decree for the City of Trinidad for new conditional exchanges from Trinidad Reservoir on the Purgatoire River to North Lake and Monument Lake, with a priority date that will allow the City to maximize the flexibility of its water resources.

Adele Reester wrote an article on Interest Based Bargaining to be published in the Special District Association monthly newsletter and the Boulder County Bar Association newsletter.

Brad Hall recently negotiated a substantial settlement for damages on behalf of our client who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident.

John Gaddis, Anton Dworak , and Eve Canfield represented the Lehman Communications, Corp. on its sale of local newspapers to the Denver Post and MediaNews Group. This matter utilized their knowledge in varied areas including business and employment, real estate, and employee benefits. After many months of negotiations the transaction closed.

Anton Dworak advised Hover Community, Inc. in purchasing and closing on property to expand its campus. Hover Community, Inc. is a Not-for-Profit organization that offers independent and assisted living to elders in the community.

Jeff Kahn and Anton Dworak advised the Fort Collins Loveland Water District on its acquisition of water rights decreed to the Divide Canal and Reservoir Company. The transaction involved a tax free exchange of water rights.
